Why I built ReadAgain.

ReadAgain began with a simple realization: many people don't stop reading because they no longer enjoy books, they stop because they lose the feeling that made them love reading in the first place.

This was the case for me.

Growing up, I was an avid reader. Somewhere around high school, those books became gradually replaced by social media, YouTube, and the endless stream of things competing for my attention. Years later, I tried getting back into reading through business and self-improvement books. They were useful, but the act of reading felt more like a chore, or something I had to do rather than something I genuinely looked forward to.

It all changed when I visited my childhood home and decided to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone when I had a bit of downtime.

That simple act of returning to a story that I remembered fondly reminded me why I had loved reading in the first place. This snowballed into exploring other books I had always liked, then entirely new books (slightly more age-appropriate), and eventually found myself back to feeling that excitement and joy in reading that I had lost.

This feeling is exactly the experience ReadAgain is built to help recreate for others.

From your responses, ReadAgain builds your personal Reading DNA: an evolving profile of the themes, writing styles, emotions, and storytelling qualities you naturally connect with, along with a set of recommendations built around their similarity to the feelings and stories you shared. It is not a personality test or a score. It's a profile that grows with every book you save, finish, recommend, or decide wasn't for you.

Every recommendation includes a plain-english explanation of why it was chosen for you. The goal isn't to replace your judgement or tell you what you need to read. It's just to make it easier to find another book you can't put down.
